Turtle Rescue

This is a mystery print we found along the beach early in the morning...wonder what it could be?
Monday afternoon we headed down to top sail beach to see the sea turtle rescue site. I have to say we almost did not make it, when we woke up Monday morning it was down pouring. Being that we had the dog booked for the night at the kennel and the camping gear packed, we decided to brave it. Yes it rained the entire drive and sporadically when we got there.

The turtles are very interesting, Abbie has had an interest in them for a few years, they nest along the shores of North Carolina beaches where we camp.

We did get our tent up that evening and thankfully it stayed dry. However a few of our sleeping essentials did get wet and lucky us we had a dryer in the camp ground. Tuesday morning was beautiful and we spent the entire day on the beach. The waves were perfect for the boogie board and Abbie had me laughing about how fun it is to ride the waves.

North Carolina Zoo

Last week we went to the ZOO. Hayley had saved up her Charity money and wanted to adopt a polar bear. Last time we went to the zoo the polar bear we saw was rescued from the circus and not doing very well, so Hayley wanted to help out. The polar bear was asleep and we just saw his back. No picture this time! The North Carolina Zoo is working on making the polar bear habitat larger with a den to house mother bears. I've tried to put the link on so you can check it out! Click on the North Carolina Zoo at the top and you can see the polar bear story.

We enjoyed the day!
This is part of the new Bee exibit.

Wake Pool

We hope everyone had a relaxing 4th of July!

The girls and I came across this wake board pool the other day and thought it looked fun... or you may say dangerous! Well it's not so easy. This is Abbie's second day of trying it and she's not to bad. We have to work on getting the water to fill up just right and practice. I think she will make it across the entire pool in no time. It also makes a nice slip-in-slide.
